Microsoft Dynamics Community contest

Microsoft launched the Dynamics Community, that comprises individual crm blogs, crm forums a way to network via the Microsoft Dynamics Connect Beta for Facebook (you can put your business card on Facebook) and also read articles posted by the Microsoft Dynamics team. To promote the Dynamics Community, Microsoft launched a contest, Cash In with Microsoft Dynamics, that ends on June 30, 2008. When you register for the Microsoft Dynamics Community you will be automatically entered to win Bose headphones, a Sony digital camera, a Bose stereo, Tumi luggage, an American Express Gift Cheque, and an all-inclusive trip for two to Las Vegas. The good part is that the contest is open to non-US residents too, and prize drawings are held twice a month starting April 1, 2008 with the grand prize drawing on June 30, 2008. Semi-monthly prizes are awarded by random drawing. The grand prize is awarded to the Dynamics Community member with the most points on June 30, 2008.

info.pngA simple search on Google for define crm will display its main definition as customer relationship management. While it sounds interesting, what does it really mean? Well, the expanded definition gives some hints - CRM could be interpreted as a way to manage the relationship you have with your customers (business relationship). While this is a shallow definition of CRM, it points however in the right direction, it's all about the way you do your business so that you gain, keep and maintain a good relation with existing and future customers.

iContact Free Edition

icontact-logo.png iContact, the large email marketing solution provider, released a free edition on April 12th, 2011. This isn't an unexpected move, considering that some of their large competitors started doing that, what's however surprising is the fact that you are allowed to add up to 500 subscribers and email them for free without paying anything. To me that seems a lot of contacts, and this is obviously targeted for active people/small businesses. To use the free iContact edition you just need to visit their website and sign-up (no credit card information necessary).

Oracle® VM Templates for Siebel CRM On Demand just released

Oracle just annouced the release of Oracle® VM Templates. These templates allow deploying a fully configured Oracle CRM software platform by providing pre-installed and pre-configured images of the CRM On Demand software. The templates are very useful especially for large organizations where the costs for installation and configration of Siebel CRM On Demand are high - by using the Oracle VM Templates, administrators simply copy the images from the server (with Oracle VM installed) and use them to have a fully installed and configured Oracle environment. This beats the hell out of installing CRM On Demand from scratch.
