Types of CRM Reports you can create from Outlook with BCM

This article shows detalied information on how to create different types of CRM reports from Outlook 2003 with Business Contact Manager. The CRM reporting functionality is not available in Outlook 2003 if the Business Contact Manager add-in is not installed (it comes part of the Office Professional or Small Business suite).

After Business Contact Manager is installed in Outlook 2003, a new menu item called Business Tools will be available, and Reports is one of the available new options, as shown in the image below:

There are over 20 different CRM reports that can be generated, groupped in 4 different categories.
Business Contacts. To create reports in this category go to the Business Tools menu, select Reports and Business Contacts. Choose one of the available 6 types of CRM reports:

  • Business Contacts Phone List
  • Business Contacts by Status
  • Business Contacts by Rating
  • Business Contacts by Category
  • Business Contact History
  • Neglected Business Contacts

Accounts. To create reports in this category go to the Business Tools menu, select Reports and Accounts. Choose one of the available 7 types of CRM reports:

  • Account List with Business Contacts
  • Quick Accounts List
  • Accounts by Status
  • Accounts by Rating
  • Accounts by Category
  • Account History
  • Neglected Accounts

Opportunities. To create reports in this category go to the Business Tools menu, select Reports and Opportunities. Choose one of the available 6 types of CRM reports:

  • Past Due Opportunities

Other. To create reports in this category go to the Business Tools menu, select Reports and Other. Choose one of the available 6 types of CRM reports:

  • Source of Leads

After the type of report is chosen, a print preview window will be displayed. In here you can see the data that was reported, and make additional changes before printing the report. For instance you can sort the data displayed using a specific field, ascending or descending. If you want to customize the type of crm report further more, click on Modify Report. This new window will allow you to do general changes, filter the data shown based on new rules, or modify the Header/Footer to include your company name, to change the title of the report, to add an additional footer with whatever information you want, or to include the page number and date of the created type of crm report:
